Fresh Cut Holiday Greenery

You can’t beat the beauty and scent of fresh cut greenery for decorating.

In fact, it’s one of my favorite things to use when I style a home. I love the organic feel and color it brings to a space. There’s an abundance of varieties to choose from too. Some of my favorites are Eucalyptus, both Silver Dollar and Seeded, Bay leaf, Olive branches and Palm fronds.  Cut greenery is also  affordable and last a lot longer than flowers do.

I gave up live Christmas trees years and years ago.  I just couldn’t take the constant shedding of needles and fear of some kind of spontaneous combustion.  I have to admit though, I do miss the scent a live tree brings to the home. I’ve found that decorating with just a few live greens, substitutes nicely for the bulk of a whole tree. They also cost a lot less than a tree and are much easier to dispose of at the end of the season.

Trader Joes has been a great resource for fresh holiday greens.  This season they have fir garlands, swags with bows, cut fir boughs and pine cone wreaths and at way better prices than anyone else’s I’ve seen around town.  If you’re not lucky enough to have a Trader Joes in your city, visit your local nursery.  They often carry an assortment of greenery around the holidays. Better yet, you could just leave your pajamas on and stay home. I’ve rounded up some great options that you can order right from your laptop or mobile phone and still have them delivered in time for the holidays. Check out my fav things below.

Lots of love,

Valerie
